Winter Flowers from Poland – Review of Kris Line “Sicilia” in 70H

14 Dec

Hi everyone! How is December going? Mine has a been a very busy and rather stressful one but gladly I had some time to take pictures today for you to put up this review. Today I’m talking about a Kris Line soft style bra called “Sicilia” which is part of their lovely AW14 collection. Kris Line kindly sent me this set for review, so I could compare it to the other padded style I have from them, the Marilou Deco (click for the review!). Here’s how I liked the soft bra and the matching bottoms…

DSC_0075DSC_0081
The Design: I was so pleased to see Kris Line coming up with a lovely cherry blossom embroidery/print for winter as it’s usually regarded as a spring-appropriate print. I LOOOOVE cherry blossoms and actually haven’t seen them much on bras which makes this style rather unique. Also the colour combo is both sophisticated and cute at the same time but I could imagine it being made in eg a blush colour for spring season.

The shape is super rounded and it definitely rivals the likes on Cleo which expert in this kind of round in-your-face look. I have been a fan of the look for a long time and it looks fabulous under clothing. The cups are made of four parts with one horizontal and two vertical seams which give the cups their uplifted rounded look. The bra is most close to a balconette shape but has a quite a lot of coverage to it too – this would definitely be a good choice under a modest sweater.

Fit: I would say the fit of Sicilia is rather comparable to Marilou as I fit into the same size with both of them. I have actually noticed that the cups are so deep that I almost don’t fill them properly and my other cup on my smaller boob wrinkles a bit on the apex. However, I don’t feel like a different size would solve this as I am rather full on top and need the extra space there.

I opted for a size 70H with Sicilia but I am now pretty certain that band-wise, I could now go down to 65 (UK 30) as I have lost a bit of weight. The band seems to be running true-to-size but is maybe on the smaller side of 70, just like most Polish bras. The band features three hooks and eyes making it still sturdy and wearable regardless of it being a bit too big for me. The underwires of Sicilia are perfect again and I feel like Kris Line is better for me wire-wise than some other Polish brands, as the too-narrow wires are not good for breast tissue nor comfort in the long run.

DSC_0088DSC_0072
Comfort: My first Kris Line bra Marilou was a success on the comfort level so my expectations were high when I waited for Sicilia. The soft micro fibre of Marilou is still my favourite but Sicilia comes close with it’s comfort. The sturdy mesh does not make my skin itch at all and the band is sturdy enough to feel good even when being a tiny bit loose. Also the band features four (!) sets of hooks and eyes, meaning I can tighten it a lot as I go. The straps are half-adjustable but I find them to be a good length for me anyway (for reference, I am 5’6 and have a long torso).

The knickers (or as the Polish say, Figi) looked tiny again but I found them to stretch as much as the Marilou bottoms. I opted for my regular size Small but am thinking of going for Medium next time as they are looking a bit tight and I want to see if the M would be a better choice. So overall, I would say the bottoms run a tad smaller than with UK brands. The materials are so comfy again and I am so glad the bottoms are made of the same micro fibre as my Marilou set.

All in all, I have fallen in love with another Kris Line set and can’t wait to get introducing their SS15 collection to you soon. I already have the brochure with me and there are so many styles especially in hues of blue and pink which I adore. The Kris Line Sleep collection is another winner for next season and I hope to get trying it sometime in the future – the designs look so comfy and steaming hot at the same time!

If you would like to buy Kris Line and are from USA, I would suggest Zulily. Kris Line pops up there quite regularly and the prices are great! Remeber to check out the size chart from my Marilou post to get the correct size from the start. However, if you’re European I would say your best bet is Brastop, they have a lovely selection of Kris Line with reduced prices.

Suomeksi: Moikka moi kaikille! Mulla ois tÀllÀ kertaa teille postausta puolalaisesta merkistÀ nimeltÀ Kris Line, jonka rintsikoita arvostelen nyt toista kertaa. Kris Linella on ihan valtava valikoima kokoja ja malleja, ja tÀllÀ kertaa esittelyssÀ olisi heidÀn pehmeÀkuppinen Sicilia-malli, jonka Kris Line ystÀvÀllisesti lÀhetti minulle koossa 70H.

Sicilia on todella suloinen ja hyvinistuva ilmestys: pelkĂ€sin hieman, ettĂ€ osuuko koko tĂ€llĂ€ kertaa kohdilleen, sillĂ€ olin kuullut juttua, kuinka Kris Linen rintsikat ovat vĂ€lillĂ€ vaihdelleet koiltaan aika reippaastikin. Sain kuitenkin huokaista helpotuksesta, sillĂ€ tĂ€mĂ€ malli vastaa kooltaan aika hyvin aikaisemmin kokeilemaani Marilouta. Kupit ovat minulle kuitenkin todella syvĂ€t, mistĂ€ johtuukin tuon toisen kupin rypistyminen. ElikkĂ€ te jotka kaipaatte syviĂ€ kuppeja ja kapeita kaaritukia – tĂ€ssĂ€ olisi aika potentiaalinen malli! Kris Linen kaarituet eivĂ€t kuitenkaan ole yhtĂ€ kapeat kuin monilla muilla puolalaisilla merkeillĂ€, joka onkin allekirjoittaneen kannalta ihan hyvĂ€ juttu. Liian kapeat kaarituet kun pistĂ€vĂ€t ikĂ€vĂ€sti rintakudokseen ja painavat pĂ€ivĂ€n mittaan kivuliaasti.

YmpÀrysmitaltaan Kris Linen rintsikat ovat melko normi-luokkaa eli tÀmÀ 70 jÀÀ minulle jo vÀhÀn löysÀksi viimeaikaisen painon tippumisen vuoksi. Onneksi ympÀrysnauhassa on kuitenkin neljÀ riviÀ hakasenkiinnittimiÀ, joilla saa kiristettyÀ ympÀrystÀ aika kivasti!

V.I.P. Lingerie: Review of Gossard “Temptation” in 32G

6 Oct

Hi everyone! How was your weekend? I had a fantastic one with some other bloggers from my hometown Oulu. I will not go into details yet but I promise a blog post about the night as it was so much fun and I have some pretty nice pics. Today I have another Gossard review for you and it’s one of my absolute favourite sets from Gossard (I think I say this everytime I write about Gossard?) – the Temptation. Temptation was released last month as a part of Gossard’s V.I.P. range and even before that I was super excited about the set as it includes some pretty badass eyelash-lace and a lovely deep suspender belt. The lovely folks at Gossard sent me the entire set in sizes 32G and Small and here are my thoughts about these lovelies.

DSC_0045 DSC_0047
The Design: This style is pretty unique to any full-bust bra I have ever tried; it’s a demi-cup bra meaning it only covers about half of my breasts. This may not be something that works for all sizes and shapes, but for my full-on-top breasts the look and fit is pretty stunning. The cups are constructed of two parts with a vertical seam going across the cup and making the breasts look super rounded. This bra also created my signature cleavage – two cakes on a plate! It’s a very “pushy” in-your-face kind of look but I love it as it’s not that well-achieved after you go past the G-cup barrier.

The overall look of the set is super sexy and looks as if someone had created a full-bust bra using the traditional aesthetics of a smaller cup lingerie – meaning pretty lace, fantastic half-cup cut and some gorgeous painting-like floral print. The whole look is so stunning and vintage-like I could simply die out of adoration. The deep suspender belt creates a lovely hourglass illusion and suits my pinup style very well whereas the brazilian is cut to be invisible under clothing if that’s the look you need to go for.

DSC_0062 DSC_0070
The Fit: This bra fits me pretty much like a dream. I decided to go up to size 32G instead of my regular Gossard size, 32FF. With other brands I am usually between 30GG and 30H right now. So I would still advice you to go up a band size and down a cup size with any Gossard style. However, if you are more full-on-top and in-between sizes like me, I would suggest taking the bigger cup size. I still fit fine into eg my Botanical bra even though it’s a 32FF. This is probably due to the demi-cup shape of Temptation and a size smaller would definitely lead to some spillage with my breast shape.

The band did not feature the gateway design this time so I would say it feels a bit more secure than your regular Gossard bra. The straps were quite thick but also widely placed and slippery so they tend to slip off my shoulders from time to time when combined with another slippery material. However, they are also fully-adjustable so that’s definitely a good thing!

DSC_0022 DSC_0142
Comfort: Even though the straps caused a bit of tricky situations when combined to eg a polyester dress, this bra is otherwise very comfortable. The wires are perfect again and I can’t praise Gossard more on their comfortable and high-quality co-ordinates. The lace doesn’t feel scratchy at all and even with my worst skin condition the bra felt pretty damn comfy on.

The suspender belt and shorts look fabulous but also feel good on. I really liked how the suspender belt flattered my tummy area and sucked some of it in to form a more streamlined look. However, this is not the most subtle piece of lingerie, so be aware that it does show through clingy clothing. Even though the look is very “bedroom” I think the suspender belt is also very wearable under eg vintage-style swing dresses as it is not too tight or restrictive and has high-quality metal parts that hold your stockings in place during everyday or evening wear. The panties were very appropriate for any outfit you can imagine; even though they do feature some lace the back part is seamless and looks overall great and flattering with or without clothes.

This set is priced a little higher unlike your usual Gossard lingerie; it’s part of the V.I.P. range so it’s definitely a bit more luxurious style with more exquisite details. In my opinion the whole assemble is so alluring and stunning I would pay the higher price tag for the quality and style one gets for the money. You can find the whole set on Gossard’s online store and the sizes go up to G-cup. There is also a plunge bra available up to D-cup if you are smaller-breasted and look for a more sheer look! The demi-cup bra costs ÂŁ42 whereas the brazilian and the thong are sold for ÂŁ24 and the waspie suspender belt for ÂŁ54.

Hope you liked the review and if there is anything else you would like to know or just something you want to comment, please leave me a comment below! 😉 xx

Moda Exhibition – Preview of Panache Superbra and Cleo by Panache AW14 collections

24 Mar

As I went to the Moda Exhibition to see the AW14 collection I was super excited to see what Panache and especially their sub-label Cleo had come up with for the next season. Panache is consisted of whopping seven different lines in total so be prepared for two posts regarding their lines! First up my ultimate favourite –  Cleo. ImageImage
Above: Juna Animal and Neve

First of all, Cleo makes great basics for young women and the target market is very clear – fun-loving women in their 20’s. As I talked to the Panache representative she told me that they wanted to make the distinction even clearer this season and to do this they had to keep certain aesthetics constantly in mind while designing the new collection. Even the price tags were renewed – in a very stylish sense I might add. The change in the collection is somehow notable – it’s now even more pure Cleo than what we are used to seeing in the past collections.

What stood out to me this season from the Cleo collection were the colours they used – very trendy yet very Cleo. I have always been a great fan of quirky colour combos which is one of the reasons I love Cleo so much. What other brand comes up with a working combination of neon green and orange? They also add a dash of neon or some other brights to basic colours such as navy and black which adds a bit of fun to everyday styles as well.

So what does Cleo do best in addition to their great colours? Well, that would probably be the unbeatable shape of their unpadded cups. I have had lingerie store owners oohing over my Marcie while being fitted to another bra just because of how rounded and uplifting the cups make my breasts look. This season Cleo treats us with so many lovely and fun styles which I can’t wait to get to try on!

The biggest gem of the whole collection is the Kali – a neon yellow/green unpadded balconette style with a hint of orange and hearts adorning the fabric. I literally gasped of desire when I saw it. The Kali is based on the best-selling Lucy style but has renewed itself design wise. I can say that I like this new design 100 % more since the hearts are more unique than the previous flower embroidery and also a bit more fun. I cannot even express how happy I am with the design and how amazing I find the colour combo.. It’s just pure awesomeness.

The Marcie has been re-invented for this season as well in a new colour, a one that’s very similar to the first Marcie that was released a few season back. Now the tone is more Raspberry-like and the line also features a babydoll which still makes my fingers itch when I think about it (tried the black one and band was super-tight btw!). I might give it a go in the new yellow SS14 style sometime soon. My other favourites were the Lily with its adorable swan print and neon trimmings and the Minnie which is a very cute everyday style.

Panache Superbra is kind of a bigger sister to Cleo; it includes everyday basics and some evening styles with a more sophisticated grown-up way. This line is very approachable for so many women out there and there are some styles that have even reached a cult status. I myself own a very well-loved Jasmine in floral print and love the shape it gives me and how it accommodates some serious size fluctuations. The shape of Jasmine has apparently been adapted to a few other styles as well which is very smart regarding how well it fits so many women.

My absolute favourite from the collection was the luxurious Clara since it’s a breath-taking evening style which gives a great shape and support without compromising in the design. I think Clara with this golden colourway – so appropriate for autumn and Christmas btw – has hit the jackpot and appeals to my more grown-up side (yes, there is one, it just stays hidden most of the time). I would love to see this style evolve even more and maybe have a little sister in a Cleo collection in the future (perhaps a balconette style?).

Next time I will be previewing Panache Masquerade and Sculptress lines so stay tuned for some pin-up and evening-time glamour! If you have any thoughts about the new styles and collections, please let me know in the comment box.
