What to Pick for a Loved-One for Valentine’s? – 2COP’s Lingerie Gift Guide

2 Feb

As Valentine’s day is two weeks away, there’s still a lot of time to pick something for either yourself (cause, duh, that is a love affair of a lifetime) but maybe something for your partner as well. Also, if you want to buy your bff something cute, why not try some comfy sleepwear? Here are my picks for bra-size free lingerie picks for this Valentine’s Day!

Gossard “Elegance” cami & french knicker set

As Gossard has been one of my go-to lingerie brands since last year, the first place I checked for proper cute sleepwear was their very own online store. Sadly Gossard does not make that many bras in my size anymore, but I do have a bit of experience with their sleepwear as well and it’s so comfy I cannot recommend it enough. The cuts are also so flattering and sexy, why not snatch up this cute Elegant set in Rose for yourself or someone you love? I promise they won’t be disappointed. Valentine’s may seem like a day to buy something extra daring for you girl, but let me assure you, better safe than sorry when it comes to undergarments, right? The set is sold separately and is moderately priced at £28 for the cami and £21 for the french knicker.

Mimi Holliday “Golden Helicon” Teddy

This teddy by the lovely Mimi Holliday is a bit on the pricier side but looks like a million bucks while actually costing £145. If you have some dough to splurge, a good-quality teddy is a lovely luxury gift for any gal out there. No matter if she sleeps butt-naked – this will get her lounging around in something pretty instead of his dad’s old t-shirts (oopsie, caught me right there!). The pale pink chiffon and golden dots make a more subtle nod to Valentine’s instead of being all goo-y and cliched.

Dottie’s Delights “Love Letters” Babydoll

If you are a vintage-loving gal as myself, you will love love love this “Love Letters” babydoll by the ever-so-lovely Dotties Delights! This gift would be perfect for anyone with a little pinup inside them so if your girl seems to be working that 50’s look, she will most likely be swooned over this piece of underwear artistry. The babydoll costs $79 so it’s maybe not for the tightest student budget but I bet still worth every penny.

Playful Promises “Penelope” Teddy from Hepburn & Leigh

If you or your girl is not all about the pink cuteness and/or you would like to buy a lovely luxury piece on budget, try Playful Promises for some affordable vintage-glam! The detailing on this chocolate shade beauty is in the colour of luxurious gold and it’s guaranteed to be a hit regardless of the modest £45 price tag. I sure would love one for those lazy Sundays!

Freya “Eden” Chemise from Bravissimo

If you are worried that your busty lady is not gonna fit into anything above, you might want to try this little sleeping beauty from Freya. Though the chemise comes in sizes Small to Large, the chemise has been designed with a well-endowed woman in mind. Th print is absolutely adorable without being tacky, so what’s not to like! This is again one of those spot-on choices for a tight student budget, with a price of just £36. Bravissimo also has excellent customer service and speedy delivery so I highly recommend checking them out whether you are looking for a lovely gift or something practical for yourself.

These were my picks for this Valentine’s, hope you like them! Also, let me know what you have planned for your Valentine’s and what are you planning to wear? I would love to know! My Valentine’s will spend in UK so unfortunately we can’t spend it together with my boyfriend but luckily, I have some great company with Anna from Bras and Body Image and we are heading out to Birmingham to see a burlesque show. Have a great week lovelies and I wish to see you entering my blogiversary giveaways as they will start rolling VERY SOON 😉

Three White Full-Bust Bras I Don’t Hate

14 Jul

I have a confession to make – I hate white lingerie, most of the time that is. I know, most women consider it to be their favourite colour when it comes to lingerie, heck, even most of the man prefer it alongside black and red. I can tell you by experience that almost all of the guys I’ve dated loved white lingerie to bits and I just wanted to barf. I don’t know what’s the big deal with it – I guess white is a symbol of purity and this way kind of innocent and seductive at the same time. Personally I find it very dull and “ordinary” which is why I stick to my pinks and reds. However, this summer I have seen a few lovely styles in white/cream/ivory. Here’s a list of my light-toned picks for this summer, perfect for keeping you cool when the heat kicks in.

rosa2
“Rosa” by Tutti Rouge. Rosa features a perfect cream colour with a beautiful totally unique pattern of butterflies, bows and roses. I love the semi-soft shape of it even though I haven’t tried it in person yet. Even though the style is very girly, I find it to be the kinda style I reach for when I want to be feminine and cute. Tutti Rouge has definitely treated my sweet tooth for all the past seasons but I think they hit the jackpot with this particularly sugary style. Rosa is available in sizes 28-38 D-HH.pol_pl_3DM-Bialy-Bez--566_1
“Bialy Bez” by Ewa Michalak. How much do I love Ewa for creating this style? I think the see-though lacy fabric is so gorgeous I just couldn’t help but falling in love with it – one reason being its pure white colour. I think white looks most stunning when it’s done with a bold design, for example with this kind of flower-y lace. I love how the edges of the “flowers” are left to be seen on the edge of the cups. I think the style is quite stunning in both 3DM and SM shapes and looks like a great options for brides as well. 3DM goes up to DD- cups, SM is meant for bigger boobs and goes up to K-cup.

_MG_1217
“Coquette” by Mimi HollidayI have been drooling over this one for weeks and would love to buy it to treat myself a little, just haven’t taken the plunge yet (and probably won’t cause I’m broke, haha). The shipping costs are quite a lot considering £12 is around 15€. That’s quite a bit of money for a student. However, the full-bust bra is now 50% off so it’s a great bargain, especially for those living in UK. I love the little black details of the set and they kinda remind me of Snow White (why am I always thinking of Snow White when everybody else thinks french maid? God knows..). Coquette is available up to GG-cup meaning it would be quite a risk for me anyway, since I tend to be in-between sizes at the moment (dangerously leaning towards H-cup).

Well, that was pretty much it for this time and tomorrow I will probably (fingers crossed!) come up with a new review. How do you like white lingerie? Are you a hater or a lover? I would also love to know which colours you do like when it comes to lingerie so please leave me a comment below! xx

My full-bust lingerie picks for Valentine’s Day!

26 Jan

I love Valentine’s Day; I’m a sucker for all things pink, red and romantic. I remember I always used to dream about the perfect Valentine’s Day when I could be whisked off to wonderful romantic date by Prince Charming and then we’d live happily ever after. Unfortunately my childhood dreams were crushed by the fact that that day never came, not in 21 years. Funny enough, today when I have finally found my Prince Charming I don’t feel upset when I can’t spend Valentine’s Day with him on that exact day. Why, you ask. The answer is simple and pretty cheesy; I don’t need February 14th to show someone how much I love him. He knows it already, which is why we can happily go out a few days before and have our own private Valentine’s Day.

But let’s leave my personal love life goo out of this for a second and focus on the one important thing that always makes me flutter whether it’s Valentine’s Day or not – lingerie. V-day is an excellent excuse to treat yourself as well and show some self-love; buy yourself something you feel sexy/ comfortable in and it will make your day with or without a special someone. Here are some picks to make you feel and look fantastic!

Image

Curvy Kate “Carmen”

Of course I needed to include it. After all it’s the one set I’ve been drooling over since the pics were released. And guess what? This is my personal pick for the V-day adventures since I ALREADY HAVE IT WITH ME. Yes, I bought it, it arrived today and turned out to be perfect. Boyfriend is diggin the set too so it’s a win-win situation. (Review coming next week!) You can buy yours at Brastop or Figleaves for £35 for the bra, £15 for the thong and £18 for the suspender belt. Size range 28D-38J.

SugarShape “Marilyn”

I usually don’t go for the white options but this set is just so gorgeous it has to be mentioned. I also love how it’s photographed and shown on different body types which makes this brand and the product even more attractive to consumers. If you want to find out more about SugarShape check out my post on them here. You can find Marilyn in their e-commerce store.

Mimi Holliday “Raspberry Ripple”

Loving the new Mimi styles! Raspberry Ripple is a perfect V-day choice for someone who appreciates a bit of luxe but still quite clean looks. This set is not overly frilly or complicated but it makes a statement with it’s amazing colour and shiny materials. This style also includes a Maxi bra which is designed for sizes 28-40 D-GG. Image

Playful Promises “Ruby”

This one I picked for a bit of fun – it’s not very practical nor supportive but makes hell of an impact when worn with a right attitude and whole lotta confidence. I would personally love to see how this kinda thing works for my 30GG bust and would definitely be up for trying it for the heck of it. Also the girdle is amazing and could easily be combined with a full-bust bra if needed. Both of these are sold at Hepburn & Leigh in sizes XS-XL.

Image

Avocado “Nina”

Avocado is aesthetically one of my favourite Polish brands; it offers both very romantic detailed designs but also sleek and sophisticated ones, just like Nina. I love the bold red colour here, it’s perfect for the set’s simplicity and would work fantastically for V-day celebrations. You can find Nina on Avocado’s online shop in sizes 60-95 E-K (EU sizing).

Here are my picks for Valentine’s but if anyone of you have other faves or styles appropriate for the most romantic day of the year, let me know in the comments! I would also love to know what your plans are for V-day if you dare to share 😉

Bra review: Mimi Holliday “Bisou Bisou” Maxi bra in 30G

8 Dec

ImageImageImage

Recently my boobs decided to grow about a cupsize, almost cupsize and a half. This couldn’t have come in any more inconvenient time since I am absolutely broke and really, I have no money to buy bras or actually anything else in addition to food right now. This is sad cause a well-fitting bra should be human right, a way to feel comfortable no matter how broke you were.

Well, I begged for my dad for some money and then “accidentally” bumped into this beautiful Bisou Bisou bra in 30G by Mimi Holliday. Not exactly the bra you buy when on budget but luckily I got this one on sale. AND it was my b-day a couple of weeks ago so I justify this purchase perfectly by the fact that I totally deserve it. But, onto the business…

Design: First of all I need to mention that I am a sucker for any Mimi bra out there. They have distinct style of their own, very girly yet inventive and sexy at the same time. I love their colour combos and really do mourn for the fact that most of their bras only come up to FF now that I’ve gained a cupsize.

This particular bra is well-known for its exquisite eyelash lace. The cups are fully made of the lace and the luxurious feel extends to the bra band which is made of pure silk. Also the colour combo is something I adore even if I had preferred the deep pink/ black version.

The shape of the bra is not something I usually prefer – it is very natural and does not give enough uplift to my Gs. Also this bra gives my boobs a bit of the “upside-down 7” look so I feel like it would suit full-on-bottom breasts better. With a decent tightening of the bra straps the shape is tolerable and I ended up deciding to keep the bra.

Fit: I have several fit issues with this bra so I’m gonna blurt them out first. The cups feel a bit small for G cups so I’d say they are more something between FF and G. I would be very interested in trying the in GG but as my boobs are a-symmetrical I feel like my right side would end up gaping. This makes the gore lift a bit from my sternum which is not great for stability and support. Nevertheless I don’t have any quadboob and am pretty satisfied with the cup depth.

The band of this bra on the other hand is great! It reminds me a bit of my old Curvy Kate bras (god bless their souls..) which are a bit on the stretchier side but ever so comfy. The bra band of Bisou Bisou is not as stretchy as a CK one but it definitely works for my true 30″ frame without any discomfort or cutting in. It is also pretty wide for only having two sets of hooks and eyes so the strain of my boobs is distributed to a more vast area.

Comfort: As said before this bra is very much like my CK bras in many ways. That is also the case when it comes to comfort issues. I LOVED my CK Portia for being such a comfy bra to wear eg around home and I’m glad that I have found someone to replace her (my Portia died just after a couple of moths of wear.. sad). Also this bra is very boudoir-style so I’m super happy it is also comfortable to wear for long periods on lazy Sundays.

Some might find the lace of the bra a bit scratchy since it’s not the kind of lace that appears on eg Fraulein Annie “Falling in Love” set or Panache “Jasmine”. It is more rigid ad thick and this is why it could irritate someone’s skin. However even with my excema I don’t find the lace scratchy at all and it feel quite comfy on my otherwise sensitive skin. I guess this is due to the high quality of the materials.

The bra straps are quite long and made out of silk. This may cause some problems when it comes to shorter torsos; straps falling off and reducing the support. I needed to shorten the straps almost all the way but after doing so I felt no discomfort what so ever. This is just something that need to be taken into consideration when evaluating the bra’s suitability for different body types.

Even though my first encounter with Mimi Holliday wasn’t ideal I’m eager to try some other styles before my final judgement of the brand. Mimi has some lovely styles in their new SS14 collection so I hope to have a second chance with her later on next year. Has anyone else tried Mimi Holliday and encountered the same fit problems? Please let me know in the comments, I would be very grateful!
